The original Spangler Paper Mill was built shortly after DDRR brought rail service to the area. With the easy access to wood chips from the nearby Lumbermill, the Paper Mill has been able to steadily expand its production over the years. Now Spangler Paper Products is one of largest paper suppliers in the Western US. The company receives wood chips, ink, and other supplies via rail. Boxcars of paper products are picked up daily from the Paper Mill.
